  1. The following examples represent excerpts from bills using the same data, but
  2. different billing formats.  Note that they differ chiefly in the amount of
  3. detail provided.  Formats 0, 1 & 2 give only the service performed, while for-
  4. mat 6 also gives the date, the time spent on the service, the initials of the
  5. timekeeper, the timekeeper's rate, and the charge for each individual service.
  6. The other formats provide degrees of detail between these extremes. Of course,
  7. all bills would also contain opening & closing paragraphs, disbursement & re-
  8. ceipt data, return addresses, and signature blocks.
